The Travis Unified School District administrative team is please to announce the appointment by the Travis Board of Education of Terry Jensen to the position of Principal of Cambridge Elementary School.
Terry comes to Travis Unified with 26 years of experience in education, 23 of which have been in a position of school leadership. He has served as Head Teacher of Gehringer Primary School in the Oakley Union School District, Principal of Washington Primary School in the Lindsay Unified School District, Principal of Mary Farmer Elementary School in the Benicia Unified School District, Principal of Amy Blanc, and most recently Principal of B. Gale Wilson School both in the Fairfield Unified School District. Prior to becoming an administrator, he was a Bilingual/Bicultural K-1 teacher, working in a team teaching environment in the Oakley Union School District.
Terry obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from San Francisco State University, his Master of Science in School Administration and Administrative Credential from California State University, Hayward, and a Doctor of Education in School Management from University of La Verne.
His most recent accomplishment is having led the school-wide team at B. Gale Wilson that secured four prestigious awards for the school. His was the first school ever to achieve all four of these awards, and they were awarded all in the same year. They are the California Distinguished School Award, California Distinguished Visual and Performing Arts School Award, California Physical Education and Health Exemplary School Award, and the California School Boards Golden Bell Award.
