Superintendent's
Message
Welcome
to Travis Unified School
District, serving Solano County and
the communities of Vacaville, Fairfield and
Travis Air Force Base. We
are a small district, serving approximately 5300 students, kindergarten
through high school, with an outstanding track record of academic
performance. We have three elementary sites located on Travis
Air Force Base and two elementary sites within Vacaville. Vanden High
School, Golden West Middle
School and the Travis Education Center (an
alternative high school and community day school) are all located
adjacent to the air force base.
We have
specialty programs including: The
Arts and Academics housed at Center Elementary School, the Aviation
Academy at Vanden High School and the Dual Language Immersion Program
at Cambridge Elementary School. Both Foxboro Elementary and Cambridge Elementary
have year-round programs.
Parents
are encouraged to become involved with their students’ schools. There
are also opportunities for parents to participate in district-wide
committees to discuss important issues relative to education and
student learning. If you are
interested in becoming involved, please contact the school site or

input is important so please send an e-mail with questions or requests.
We continue
to develop this site in an effort to provide communication tools
and information to our school community. You will find links
to our sites, a newcomer's
guide meant to orient families considering a move to our district; breaking news
about our district, a volunteer
section inviting you to become involved with us, Board
agendas and minutes outlining proposed actions and accomplishments,
and links
to our departments, along with many specialized announcements
and updates. Our web site continues to expand, so please check in
often to stay up-to-date. In the meantime, if you have suggestions
for future items or requests for information not found at this site,
please go to the directory and email our technology director or me. You will receive a personal
answer.
