Kindergarten registration is for students who will be five years old by December 2, 2002. Children do not need to be present during registration. Parents of traditional and year round tracks should bring the student’s birth certificate, up-to-date immunization record, and proof of address (housing letter, P.G.&E. bill or Escrow/house contract). The State of California requires the following immunizations:

* Two doses of measles-containing vaccine required. One
dose of mumps and rubella-containing vaccine required; mumps vaccine is not
required for children 7 years of age and older
*** Effective Date 7/1/01. Physician-documented Varicella (chickenpox) disease
history or immunity will also meet the Varicella requirement.Children who do not meet the immunization requirements set
by the State of California will not be allowed to start school.
Therefore, children who will start kindergarten next fall should start the Varicella and Hepatitis B vaccine series now, to avoid the last-minute rush.
