How
do I register my child?
Please bring the following items for registering your child:
- Your student's immunization (shot) record.
- Proof of your address. Acceptable forms are: Escrow documentation
or purchase, copy if lease or rent receipt, PG&E bill, water
bill or property tax receipt indicating your name and address.
- To register for kindergarten, we need your child's birth certificate.
- To register for grades 1-6, we will need your child's last report
card.
- A physical examination is required of all students beginning
school for the first time. The physical must have been performed
after the child is four and a half years of age.
Please check the pages on Registering
your child for more information.
Which
school will my child attend?
Finding out what school your child will attend is easy if you
know what street you will be living on. Check
the page that lists all the street names.
How
old does my child have to be to start Kindergarten in the fall?
New students must be placed in a grade level that is appropriate
to their age. This is true for Kindergarten students as well as
students in other grades. A child must be 5 by December 2 in order
to enroll in Kindergarten. Likewise, a child must be 6 by December
2 to enroll in first grade, 7 by December 2 to enroll in second
grade, etc.
According to policy, the Student Study Team can recommend that
a student be promoted to the next grade once the school personnel
have had a chance to assess the child to determine that he / she
is in the top 5% of students academically, and corresponding social
and emotional growth are evident. In any case, the student MUST
BE PLACED IN A GRADE LEVEL APPROPRIATE TO THE CHILD'S AGE AND
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DECEMBER 2 CUT-OFF UNTIL SUCH ASSESSMENT
TAKES PLACE.

I
live in off Base, can my child still attend Travis Schools?
Even though you may be living off base and/or out of our district
boundaries, there is the option of applying for an "Inter-district agreement". Please refer
to our section on how to apply for this agreement
in the newcomer's corner. It is important that you know that
Travis Unified School District places a priority upon accepting
military dependents into their schools.
