Mrs. Dobson has been working with her third grade
students using various aspects of technology. Students have learned to
use Inspiration, a mind mapping software, and PowerPoint, a presentation
software. Students created documents to illustrate physical science
concepts and well as Social Studies standards.

Properties of Matter
This first project was a team effort. Students has studied the
different properties of matter. Each group was responsible to write
out definitions, locate an example of each state and illustrate each state
with the drawing tool. Prior to creating their PowerPoint slideshow
each group organized their thoughts using Inspiration. MindMap
of Matter and its properties.
As a culminating activity, each group presented their slideshow and
explained why they chose certain images and how they related to each state
of matter.

Country Reports
For this project each child selected a country and research various
aspects of it's culture. Their research was organized by using a
storyboard. Each child created their own report and located images
from the web to illustrate the information contained in their
research.
