Mrs. Budish, a 2nd grade teacher at Scandia Elementary School, uses a lot of technology in her class.  The highlight of last year was the project Postcards from Travis Air Force Base.  One student has a family member who teachers a 2nd/3rd grade in St. George, Utah.  Mrs. Budish and Mrs. Brown got in touch with each other and decided to do a joint project.  Mrs. Budish took digital pictures of different places on Travis Air Force Base.  Children each chose a picture to write about at the focus of their community.  Many children were able to use pictures of places where their parents worked - an exciting unexpected element.  Pictures and student research were put into a PowerPoint complete with a patriot song and sent to St. George. Utah.  Children in St. George were so excited to receive pictures and history from California they took pictures of their community and did the same thing.  Now it was Travis's students turn to be excited!

Take a look at the two presentations to share in excitement experienced by these 8 year old children!
