This Web Site contains free interactive on-line lessons for teachers, students and parents. Students will see how the Fibonacci sequence unfolds into spirals and rectangles while they hear the rhythmic patterns it forms. They will also see and he Pi, and DNA sequences, and mathematical fractals such as ice crystals, broccoli and bubbles. Further down in the page they will discover everyone's favorite guessing game, Name That tune! It features their favorite cartoon and movie themes while it teaches part-to-whole relationships. You can read the latest University research on how listening to certain types of musical patterns enhances learning and increases test scores.

Math and Music is a wonderful collection of information devoted to teaching the relationships between mathematics and music. It discusses things about Mozart, scales, and tuning.

      During America's dark chapter of slavery, there was one bright light indeed: the Underground Railroad, an escape route for slaves who wanted to start a new life. Now you can learn what it was like to risk life and limb in the quest for freedom. Follow the North Star and meet the legendary Harriet Tubman, a slave who successfully escaped and helped countless others find the way across icy Lake Erie into Canada. Watch out for the bloodhounds that are looking for fugitives. The journey can be grueling, as you'll find out from the 250 - mile path, which is anything but a walk in the park.

    Welcome to the U.S. government interagency Kids' Portal. This site was developed and is maintained by the Federal Citizen Information Center.     Smithsonian Institution: National Museum of the American Indian
    This site was established in 1989 by Congress. The museum was created to showcase and honor cultural achievements by American Indians. This site is huge and can be overwhelming. It is suggested you start at Conexus to view portions of past and present exhibitions online (click on NMAI Conexus Archive in the lower left corner for past exhibitions).

    Cherokee's of California
    You will find Cherokee greetings, cookbook, history, hymns, myths, research, and words of wisdom at this site. Cherokees of California is a non-profit tribal organization. It is not affiliated with the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, nor is it a federally recognized tribal entity. We are banded together as descendants of a common Cherokee heritage. Our primary purpose is to preserve and pass on to the next generation our traditions, history and language.

    Ohlone/Costanoan Esselen Nation
    Include information on the past and present Native American tribes of the Monterey Bay, California area.

    Chumash Indians
    The Chumash Indians of southern California were once the largest cultural group among the western tribes. But 'reduction' by Spanish, Mexican, and American invaders of California greatly reduced their numbers. Today, only the Samala subdivision of the Chumash are legally recognized by the federal government.

Online Guides: Meteorology
A series of multimedia instructional modules dealing with atmospheric science. The target audience for the Online Meteorology Guide is high school and undergraduate level students. Each entry lists the song's writer, and some include an audio file of the song.

Mama Lisa's World
Start your kids learning about other cultures and languages with help from this collection of children's songs from around the world. Pick a country from the A - Z listing, or start with a broader continent-by continent list. There are English translations for songs from other languages, and many songs include basic piano renditions of the melodies as well.
