DIRECTIONS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR SCIENCE NOTEBOOK:
- You are required to use a 3-ring binder with 3 dividers.
- All papers must be stored in the 3-rings.
- Label each divider section / tab as follows:
Section 1 : Golden West Planner
All COMPLETE daily agendas should be written out completely in the GW Planner by proper date. Remember, you should be able to sit down with your parent or an absent classmate and be able to discuss in detail what you did in class on any given day. Do NOT write “absent”. Copy the agenda from the Science Log in class or from a friend or classmate.
Section 2: Journal
This section should contain:
Parent letter
Science curriculum
Notebook organizer (this paper)
All non-graded work and/or journal entries
Section 3: Graded Work
This section should contain:
ALL graded work (ex: classwork, homework, labs, tests, quizzes).
Section 4: Notes/wordbank
This section should contain:
Wordbanks (complete with definitions), class notes
- All papers must be filed by date in each section with new dates in front.
- Notebook will be checked at the end of every quarter and is worth 20%
of the quarter grade.
- You may share your notebook with other subjects if the rings are 1” diameter or more.
7. All assignments must have the proper heading:
Name, Date, Period

Title and / or Page #’s& Question #’s
(on the top middle of the page)
