State Report

Information that should be included in the State Report

Name of the state and history of its name

Brief History of the state from when the native inhabitants were displaced to the present

Description of state flag (history and meaning)

Number of the state admitted and any special significance

Map of states in the Union before your state

Point out location on a map including borders and adjacent states

Current population from last year's or this year's almanac

Capital and Major Cities (location and population, including all cities larger than Vacaville)

State trivia: bird, flower, fossil, rock, insect, mineral, tree, etc

State nickname and motto (meaning of each)

Highest and lowest temperature and location of each

Highest and lowest elevation and where they are located

Environment and Climate

2 Tourist Attractions (that you would like to visit, describe them and tell why you'd like to see them)

Special monuments and buildings in the state

Major Industries

Natural Resources and History

National Monuments and Parks

Presidents from the state and at least 5 other famous people and tell why they are famous.

Write a question with the answer for the class

Bibliography on the last page of the report including at least four books for sources, including encyclopedias, almanacs, and state books
