Welcome to Room D-3
Mr. Schultz's 5th Grade

Welcome to our Home Page,

I hope that by working together, we can give the students the best possible education available. This year we will study reading, math, U.S. History, weather, matter, plants and many other subjects. Here is some basic information and ideas that might help.

This is a list of some of the assignments that need to be completed for this quarter, which ends on June 9th. Reports need to be finished on or before May 19th, to receive full credit for the quarter.

  1. Three book reports should be completed on books of at least 100 pages.
  2. One of the books reports should be a biography, including a second source of information. It is due April 21st. The next report should be done by May 5th and the last report should be done by May 19th.
  3. One of the book reports this semester should be on a "Battle of the Books" book if it wasn't done last quarter.
  4. Remember to read at least 30 minutes each day and log it in your Weekly Reading Record each week.
  5. Practice your math facts and times tables to 12.
  6. Memorize and recite the preamble to the Constitution.
  7. Present 10 separate bird observations on common birds like the Killdeer, Yellow-billed Magpie, Starling, Mourning Dove, Robin, Red-winged Blackbird, Quail, Meadowlark, Rock Dove, English Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Crow,
Mockingbird, Brewer's Blackbird, or Scrub Jay to the class. Each observation should be at least 5 minutes long and include several sentences about the bird's behavior. Include description, name, date, place, weather, time, duration and other pertinent data.
