Our second annual trip for sixth graders to Walker Creek Science school began just like last year's did -- in the rain! What a wet & wild way to start off a week of fun at Walker Creek!
We had 66 students, 3 teachers, and several parent volunteers pack-up their gear and head off to Walker Creek this morning. As you can see from their pictures, the children look very excited in anticipation of a great week of learning.
Students will spend the week further developing their knowledge and a sensitivity to our natural world. An extensive network of trails bring students in close contact with many diverce ecosystems and habitats. Field experiences are reinforced at the Discovery Center, a 5,000 square foot student laboratory fully equipped with exhibits, live animals and manipulatives.
