At a Reading Assembly on Wednesday, Cambridge students discovered that they are well on their way to meeting their goal of reading one million pages by April 15. To date, the student have read 270,537 pages!
By reaching the goal of one million pages, Cambridge hopes to receive a $5,000 grant from the Governor's Reading Award Program.
At the assembly, Cambridge teachers, Mrs. Weaver and Ms. Fraser, put on a play, "The Letter" from Arnold Lobel's "Frog and Toad" books. Cambridge Principal, Mr. Williams, gave the students a preview of his fencing techniques. When the goal of one million pages is reached, Mr. Williams will fence Mr. Avery!
Remember: read every day and record the books you read and the number of pages read!
