Shh! We're Writing the Constitution...Cambridge fifth grade classes performed for their peers on Thursday morning a musical set in the late 18th century. The characters and songs are based on the theme of the founding fathers and delegates to the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Songs include: "The Thing That Holds Us Together", "We've Got to Be One People", "Critical Moment", "Shh! We're Writing the Constitution", "The Give and Take", "The Best That We Could Do." The performance was very informative and entertaining! Congratulations to our students, the fifth grade teachers, and Mrs. Reyburn our music teacher for a great job! Special thanks to Mr. Reyburn and Mrs. Smith for their help with everything, especially the props and scenery.
The students learned that summer in Philadelphia was hot, humid
and had plenty of flies to slap. They learned that the first constitutional
convention was just as harmonious as the 106th congress. They
also learned about some of the unique characterisitcs of some
of our founding fathers.
