Life Cycle of Butterflies
March 18, 2009 |
On Wednesday, March 18, Vanden High School student Ms. Laura introduced the kindergarten student in K-2 to the Life Cycle of a Butterfy. Ms. Laura has been working in our classroom since October as part of the Careers in Education class.
Wednesday was Ms. Laua's day to design and teach a lesson to the class. She chose to teach the life cycle of a butterfly. the students heard stories about the Life Cycle, had discussions about butterflies, viewed a poster and learned the terms for each stage in the life cycle of a butterfly. During center time, the students had an opportunity to "create a model" of the life cycle using various type of noodles, work on a coloring a book , practice writing the various "scientific terms", and complete a dot-to-dot math page on butterflies.
