Dear Parents,

My name is Christy Francis and I am the new Parent Liaison for Cambridge Elementary.
Prior to accepting this position, I had been a Parent Volunteer for the last ten years, I am Auditor of the P.T.A. and I am a School Site Council member.

My role as Parent Liaison is to help facilitate communication between you and your children’s teachers. I will be sending information home as to what your child should be working on weekly in the classroom, as needed. I also want to get you, as parents, more involved in your child’s education. This can be done in many ways. Something as little as volunteering an hour or two in the classroom or attending Open House means so much to your child.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please feel free to contact me. If you need to set up a meeting with their teacher or you want to know what’s being worked on in the classroom, let me know. I will work with you to the best of my ability for a successful outcome for everyone.
It has been brought to my attention that we have several students that are chronically tardy. As adults we know the importance of being on time and I hope we can instill these values upon our children.

For parents of strong willed children, the Vacaville Police Dept. will be sponsoring The Parent Project. This is a ten week class that helps parents understand and communicate with their child. The class starts Tuesday April 4th, 2006 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Ulatis Alternative Education Center/Country High. Contact Gary Stanoff at 449-6151 to register. This is an excellent program and is highly recommended.
