Vanden Students Read to Cambridge Students
January 12, 2006

On January 12, twenty five students from the Vanden High School Black Student Union, and their faculty advisor, Kijuana Daw, visited Cambridge School. The Vanden students read to students in kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grade classrooms. They also donated nearly 1300 books to Cambridge School!

In the photos below, five of the Vanden student read to a third grade class. When they finished reading and discussing the importance of learning to read, the third grade students had the opportunity to read to the high school students.

The Vanden strudents from the Back Student Union served as powerful role models to the elementary students. THANK YOU!
