Señora Smith's Spanish classes at Vanden created bi-literate books...in English and in Spanish...especially for the bilingual program at Cambridge elementary school. The project came full circle when thirty of them visited the bilingual classrooms and actually read their books to the children, more importantly, some of the children read the books back to them! The 150 books have been donated to the bilingual classes to establish a library. Furthermore, some of the students have volunteered to helpo these students after school in an outreach program.

As their Spanish Instructor, Señora Smith is very proud of their efforts to reach out and make a difference in younger students' lives. Their actions have set positive role models for the entire school community.
