Ms. King's third grade learns to eat with chopsticks

The students in Ms. King's class have been reading the story "How My Parents Learned to Eat" by Ina Friedman and studying Japanese culture. It was a treat when Brodie Ward's parents brought in sushi, anari, Japanese persimmons and taught the students how to use chopsticks!

Mr. Ward's aunts were portrayed in the book "Home of the Brave" by Allen Say. Brodie's grandmother, May Ward, prepared the delicious treats.

It was fun to watch the students as they gradually became experts in the art of using chopsticks. One of our instructional aides, Nu Land, was on hand to give special help.

Thank you Nu, Mr. Ward, Mrs. Watson, Kriss, and May Ward for a truly rewarding and fun experience!
