The Sheriff of Solano County, Gary Stanton, and members from the Solano County Sheriff's department visited Cambridge on Thursday as part of our Red Ribbon Week activities.
This assembly was a great opportunity for the students to see and learn more about how the Sheriff's department helps our community. We learned about Search and Rescue dogs and how they do their work. Members of the Sheriff's Posse talked about their horses and their work in keeping us safe. We discovered that like Cambridge students, the rescue dogs and horse are learning all year around.
Solano County Sheriff, Gary Stanton, talked to the students about the department and it's role in law enforcement.
After the assembly, the Sheriff's department invited the students to come up and look at some of their equipment up close. For many it was exciting to look inside a Humvee, sit in a jeep and a patrol car, to pet a horse and a search/rescue dogs.
A big thank you to Sheriff Gary Stanton and the Solano Sheriff's department for providing this opportunity to Cambridge students.
