Danzantes del Alma

The UC Davis student folkloric group Danzantes del Alma treated Cambridge Elementary students to a special performance on Friday, March 1, 2002. This presentation was made possible through the collaborative efforts between the Cambridge Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) and Comite de Padres Unidos (CPU). The school children were introduced to several regional dances from our neighbor to the south—Mexico. The students had the opportunity to participate with the performers as they all danced to the well-known tune of La Bamba. The audience was brought to their feet creating a festive environment for all to enjoy. Along with the dances, the students were encouraged to continue their education by attending college and graduating. The school looks forward to having the performers join us again on May 9, 2002 for our Open House.
