The New Standards based Report Card

MVC-007S
Kathleen Bond, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

November 7, 2001

Cambridge parents participated in a workshop that introduced the new standards based report card. Kathleen Bond, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction led the presentation. Parents were informed that this new reporting system will be implemented this year at all elementary schools in the district.

Students will no longer be evaluated using the traditional A, B, C, D, and F-system in which students are compared to each other. This new report card will use a numbering system to indicate a student's progress toward the mastery of district standards. Teachers will phase-in use of this report card during this school year. Only partial sections of the report card will be in use this first reporting period. Full implementation will be achieved during the last or third trimester.

A list of questions and aswers from this meeting are available on the Travis web site.
