On Tuesday, February 6th the students from Room D-3 participated in a simulation called: Rendezvous with Comet Halley at the Challenger Learning Center in Sacramento. Half of the students started in the Space Station and half started in the Mission Control Center. The year is 2061 and the mission is to assemble a probe and launch it into the tail of Comet Halley to analyze the composition of the comet. It requires reading and listening as well as teamwork to complete the mission. Even though there were a few challenges and emergencies, we had a successful launch and navigated the probe to intercept the comet for a successful mission.
This opportunity is provided by the Vacaville Challenger Program.
