Scotty, Scott Johnson, and Canine Companion, Rocky

On Friday, March 16th, Hilda and Scott Johnson and their son, Scotty, visited the PM kindergarten classes with their sevice dog, Rocky. They explained to the students about Canine Companions for Independence. They brought a video and a book My Buddy to show all the tasks that service dogs can perform for disabled individuals. They described the long process that dogs and partners must complete before they graduate. The color of the vest on a dog indicates the level of training completed: yellow for puppies, green for intermediate, and blue for graduates. Each child left with their own Canine Companion toy dog and information about this worthwhile program.
